Hiked HiTor and sat in the Indian Chair many times. And I've lived in Central Florida since 1989.

I was searching for images of HiTor, specifically the Indian Chair, and came across your blog entry (from 2005 I see). Funny how I took for granted so many things I grew up with -- so much so that I never took pictures of them! Do you remember Filor's Mansion? I don't know where in Garnerville you lived, but Filor's mansion was between the North Garnerville Elementary School and Don Bosco/Marian Shrine. It was demolished in the early 70s, but I'm hoping someone took a picture. I remember my Dad gathering bricks from the demolition site and wheelbarrowing them back to our house where he used them to make pathways and several columns that, with wooden fences, separated our front yard from the backyard.

Thanks for sharing your memory of HiTor.

GailGailnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5430866.post-7904540259819384762007-02-20T13:49:00.000-05:002007-02-20T13:49:00.000-05:00thats quite a storyi live on the bottom of little ...thats quite a story
i live on the bottom of little tor mountain in garnerville and i go hiking up little tor from my backyard twice a week and make the trek to hi tor
small worldUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00071554951446714291noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5430866.post-1138362136678043242006-01-27T06:42:00.000-05:002006-01-27T06:42:00.000-05:00Sorry to hear the sad story. I didn't set fire to a mountain, but to my high school (afterward I was punished for using the fire extinguisher...)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
