A Twenty Five Cent Developer Meal

With 2011 rolling in and the economy still hovering around 10% unemployment, it’s more important than ever to economize. Dr.Dotnetsky, our kind denizen of eggheadcafe.com,  passed on this great economy meal tip and I’m reproducing it here:
Ingredients:
1 Package Maruchan Ramen Noodle Soup
maruchan
1 small bunch scallions, chopped
10 Baby Spinach leaves, chopped
Dash Toasted Sesame Oil
3 dashes Sushi Rice Seasoning
Maruchan Ramen comes in a number of flavors. Each comes with a seasoning packet. They are available for sale at grocery stores nationwide for as low as 6 for $1.00. (Dood – that’s seventeen cents a piece!)
Heat up a saucepan with 2 cups water. Throw in the noodles. After the noodles start boiling, throw in the spinach leaves and the scallions.
Add the sesame oil and the Sushi Rice seasoning (it’s just flavored vinegar)
Add the seasoning packet contents.
Turn off the heat after 3 minutes, stir, and pour into a bowl.
Enjoy!
Dr. Dotnetsy recommends that with the money you save, you can buy more – Vodka! He recommends Tito’s Handmade Corn Vodka, of course!

    wrong wrong wrong-
You should DRAIN the water off the ramen FIRST!

then, use only 1/2 of the spice packet, since the packet contains 2,000 milligrams of sodium per serving, and the package (if you read it -as if programmers read, lol) says SERVERS FOUR

mix the oil and spices and noodles in the pot, THEN toss them onto the bed of spinach waiting in the bowl.

(This prevents the spinach from getting all wilted and limp and soggy like the new Weeper of the House, John Bohner.

    Eat and enjoy!

This high fibre, high sodium diet will run through your colon faster than a TSA inspection :)

  2. Dr. Dotnetsky says the standard Maruchan Ramen package contains 1240mg sodium, and serves 2.

He says you can prepare it however you like it. If you are on a low sodium diet, you might want to buy some chinese noodles and learn how to make Ramen from scratch. That's even better.

I bet Mr. Boehner doesn't eat Ramen anyway, he's been too busy hitting Nancy Pelosi over the head with his new gavel.
